As
Skeletor blasts into space, in retreat from his confrontation
with He-Man on Denebria (from the previous installment), he is
suddenly joined by Flogg in another shuttle pod. Skeletor ponders
his next move, and with a few evil calculations, he kicks his
revenge plot into high gear. As He-Man and Kayo prepare to depart
from Denebria, to return the crystal to Primus' Titus Observatory,
the captured, bickering Slushhead and Optikk, along with their
terroclaw, suddenly vanish in a tremendous burst of mystic energies.
He-Man very cleverly assumes that Skeletor is up to no good. Another
mayday message from Primus erupts over the radio, reporting that
the planet has only an hour before it self-destructs in a cataclysmic
explosion! Quickly taking command, He-Man organizes the Galactic
Guardians, and as a well-trained unit, their small fleet of space
ships jet towards Primus, to return the Trifusium Crystal, little
knowing what awaits them there.
On
Primus, the vanished terroclaw and its passengers rematerialize
at the Titus Observatory, transported there by their new commander,
Skeletor. He has beaten He-Man and crew to the observatory, and
marshalling his evil forces, proceeds to take it over. The mutants
make short work of the valiant, but ultimately pathetic, observatory
technicians. Within the observatory, Slushhead notes that this
is where he (and Optikk) stole the crystal, indicating a large,
silent generator (why missles would be in a observatory is beyond
me). Skeletor intercepts a radio message from He-Man aboard starship
Eternia, and proceeds to deliver a distress message virtually
identical to all the other ones we've heard from Primus in this
miniseries: "Primus is doomed, deliver the crystal, blah
blah blah..." Skeletor plans to have He-Man deliver the Trifusium
Crystal, which he just got done throwing in He-Man's face, back
to Skeletor! Huh? Despite Skeletor's superb acting skills, He-Man
realizes that the radio message is obviously a trap. Regardless,
the crystal must be returned to Titus Observatory as time is running
out for Primus! Starship Eternia lands near the observatory, and
as He-Man and the Galactic Guardians approach the building, they
are confronted by Skeletor, and the total combined strength of
his entire Mutant force (all 4 of them). The battle lines are
swiftly drawn, and the guardians make short work of the mutants,
leaving He-Man alone to face his eternal enemy, Skeletor. With
only minutes left in the countdown to Primus' doom, Skeletor pulls
out all stops, and viciously attacks He-Man, beating him brutally
with his Skull Staff. Sixty seconds from apocalypse, He-Man finally
manages to say "By the power of Eternia!" and effectively
settles Skeletor's hash with a tremendous blow. Ten seconds left!
Retrieving the crystal from the floor where it had fallen during
the battle, He-Man makes a mad dash for the Trifusium generator.
The generator hums back to life, and Skeletor and his defeated
Mutants make a tactical retreat. As the Galactic Guardians and
observatory techs express their immense gratitude to He-Man for
saving their world, Skeletor speeds away from Primus in his shuttle
pod. "You think you've won, He-Man?" he mutters. "Never!
My evil deeds are just beginning!" And as his wicked laughter
echoes through space, we can see that his destination is Nordor,
Denebria's skull-faced moon. The End?
