In the February 2008 issue of ToyFare Magazine #126 a He-Fan asks ToyFare about the possibility of seeing the rare Snake Armor He-Man in mini-statue form.
Cornboy of the Four Horsemen stated that such a mini-statue was a great idea and a definite possibility.

Cornboy also revealed that the He-Man prototype seen in the Mattel display case as this past 2007 San Diego Comic con was part of a pitch they had made, and Mattel snuck it into the case to gauge fan response. No word if anything is being done in regards to that prototype.

Check out issue #126 of ToyFare for exactly what was said!

In regards to a Blu-Ray release, a BCI rep has said on the forums that "The Blu-Ray will not be coming out at the same time. We have some features that take advantage of the BR tech and they are going to take longer to produce. We don't have a street date for that one yet."

December 10

He-Fans have been curious about the status of the Skeletor Mini-Bust. While NECA hasn't confirmed a date for them, Top Secret Toys had this bit of news to report:
"I was told by NECA yesterday while I was on the phone with them that the Skeletor busts are currently in production in China, and we should get them shortly. An exact date was not given, but at least we have a confirmation that they are in fact being produced and are coming out."
Check out this thread for more info on how to preorder your Skeletor Mini-Bust!

Since then, Focus Filmes has gone on to release He-Man's Season 1 Volume 2, She-Ra's Season 1 Volume 1 and, most recently, She-Ra's Season 1 Volume 2. The newest releases are being advertised on the front page of Focus Filmes' site.

More He-Man movie news!
Be sure to pick up issue #125 of ToyFare Magazine, which is currently on the stands.
It contains an extensive interview with Justin Marks, screenwriter on the proposed He-Man and the Masters of the Universe live-action film.
Justin outlines his vision for the film and debunks a few rumors, offering fans hope that we may one day see our favorite property on the big-screen. Don't miss out!
See what fans have to say about Justin's interview!

Filmmaker Kaare Andrews, who is also known as a comic book writer and artist (Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man), wants to take a crack at He-Man on the movie-front. Over on IESB.net "The Movie Reporter", Kaare sent in a pitch, in the form of a self-funded video presentation, to give everyone an idea of his vision for the property.
Check it out!
And click here to see what other fans have to say on our forums!
Important to note: This is not an official movie trailor, nor is it something in production. This is just a grassroots pitch from a prominent comic creator.

Update:
Kaare Andrews explained to He-Man.org the purpose of this clip:
"This is a kind of conceptual piece for a live action film. This is a new technology I call Go-Cons or 'animated conceptual paintings' and represents the tone and scope of the world, not the actual end product. It was pulled together in a little over a week with a small (but talented) team. Just imagine this as an epic live action feature with a budget and full team."

Full-length episodes of the classic He-Man and She-Ra cartoons are now available through Babelgum!

Back in June of 2007, Babelgum, a free on-demand TV over the internet provider, announced that they had signed deals with 25 independent content providers for use on their Babelgum beta platform. One of these providers was Entertainment Rights who owns the entertainment rights for He-Man and She-Ra.

Initially it was unclear which shows from the Entertainment Rights library would be appearing on the site and when. However, this past August saw several episodes of He-Man and She-Ra added to the line-up!

You can watch these episodes for free. Give it a try! All you have to do is download the Babelgum beta platform and follow the instructions. Please check their minimum system requirements before doing so.

October 3

TvShowsOnDVD.com reports that the first DVD set of the 2002 Mike Young Productions' "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" could see a February 2008 release. The series would be split over 3 sets, each containing 13 episodes in anamorphic widescreen presentation.

Originally slated for a January 2008 release (as indicated by the Mattel panel at San Diego Comic-Con this past summer), the release was pushed back a bit due to the fact that BCI Eclipse has tons of work to do on the production for the features. BCI Eclipse and Mattel, who have a very close working relationship on these sets, do not want to rush through the process. Their goal is to outdo all of the classic DVD releases.

And speaking of features, word is that these sets are going to be jam-packed with extras. Apparently Mattel has a lot of content to provide! It definitely sounds like it's going to be a big event. Some early advertisements have even begun to show up, including one on the inside front cover of the July 2007 digital edition of Agent DVD Magazine.
The art shown inside is not the official cover art for the DVD. It's still too early for BCI Eclipse to release the cover art.

In other related news of interest, representatives for BCI Eclipse have stated that they're exploring the idea of releasing the 2002 "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" sets on high-definition Blu-ray Disc, seeing as how there was a marked improvement in quality during their tests. There's a 90% plus chance that it will happen. Discussions for HD DVD versions are also underway.

October 2

In their most recent Interim Results for 2007 entertainment rights holder "Entertainment Rights" reported that Mobile TV is a strong growth market for their company, and that Arena has picked up the mobile rights to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Presumably this is going to be short-form programming (short clips of classic episodes) that can be downloaded. For several months now, they've had similar agreements in place for She-Ra and Bravestarr through Player X.
