He-Man.org forum members have organized an
official "Buy
a MOTU Figure Day".
We don't want to see Masters disappear from
major retail stores like Wal-Mart,
Target,
Toys'R'Us,
etc.
So today, Friday, September 26th, please
go out and buy a figure for yourself or maybe donate your
purchase to Toys For Tots, to a friend or
relative, or maybe a less fortunate child in your community.
Some of you feel that by not buying any MotU
figures, you are making a statement to Mattel.
And that is true, you are. But at the same time, a lack of
sales spells doom for Masters.
Don't sit around and do nothing. If you are tired of the case
ratio, the figures you see on the shelves, the availability
in your area, and/or want to see something happen with the
Collectors Club, then you HAVE
to contact Mattel!
Don't think someone else will do it. That's a huge mistake.
If you want to get the MotU figures you want,
then you have to let your voice be heard! DO IT NOW! It only takes a FEW
minutes of your time, and costs you nothing!
Rather
than just throw them away, He-Man.org is
auctioning off the remaining
shipping cases for Keldor for low prices
for fans who may want to have one.
There are a number of boxes without bids, so most interested
fans can probably walk away with a box for what it costs to
ship them out.

He-Man turns 20 today!
That's right, today marks the 20th anniversary of He-Man
and the Masters of the Universe. Read this special

1983
He-Man
and
the
Masters
of
the
Universe
debuted
on
television
screens
across
the
world.
For
the
first
time,
the
words
of
the
transformation
were
uttered
by
Prince
Adam,
the
soothing
voice
of
the
Sorceress
was
heard,
and
the
cackle
of
Skeletor's
laugh
rang
in
our
ears.
Little
did
Filmation
or
Mattel
know
at
the
time
that
their
new
cartoon
series
would
influence
the
lives
of
millions
of
impressionable
young
children.
Today,
those

are
celebrating
He-Man's

birthday
on

We
all
owe
He-Man
a
big
thanks
for
teaching
us
morals,
giving
us
years
of
action-packed
entertainment,
and
for
fighting
evil
wherever
it
presents
itself.
When
He-Man
began
in
1983,
it
started
with
65
syndicated
episodes,
a
television
market
move
unheard
of
at
the
time.
When
production
ended
in
1985,
130
episodes
of
He-Man
were
on
the
air,
and
dozens
of
copycat
series
were
competing
to
become
the
next
He-Man.
For
all
of
us
who
grew
up
in
the
1980s,
He-Man
was
a
big
part
of
our
childhoods.
The
characters,
settings,
and
stories
will
not
be
forgotten.
Twenty
years
later
we
still
hold
He-Man
dear
in
our
hearts.

Jeremy Padawer has recently left the Masters
brand to head up a number of new projects at Mattel.
Jeremy is an extremely generous and helpful
person who cares about everything he does and has tried his
best to always keep the fans in the know. Jeremy wanted to say goodbye to all the Masters
fan, and just sent everyone this
message.
It's
1:25am
here
in
Los
Angeles.
I'm
staying
up
extra
late
tonight,
working
on
Nickelodeon
stuff
from
home.
I
just
wanted
to
thank
you
all
again
for
your
continued
support
and
passion
for
the
Masters
of
the
Universe.
It
is
and
forever
remains
the
most
important
male
action
brand
in
the
history
of
the
play
pattern.
Seriously...
who
else
can
compete?
GI
Joe:
ok.
I'll
give
you
that.
GI
Joe
was
a
manifestation
of
a
country
that
just
faced
a
major
world
war
and
was
starring
down
the
barrel
of
many
wars
to
come...
Korea,
Vietnam.
What
GI
Joe
wasn't
-
it
wasn't
a
superhero.
It
was
more
of
a
statement
of
the
day
that
wouldn't
end.
GI
Joe
was
obvious.
Transformers:
Transformation
+
Robots
as
a
play
pattern...
completely
revolutionary
and
on-point
with
kids.
Remember,
however,
Transformers
came
after
MOTU.
Turtles:
After
MOTU
Batman,
Justice
League:
Great
stuff,
limited
on
shelf.
Masters:
Masters
was
it.
A
billion
dollar
boy
action
figure
brand....
not
based
in
reality,
but
completely
from
a
new
world,
where
bees,
mosquitos,
humanoid
creatures,
beasts,
underwater
minions,
skeletal
monsters,
and
elephant
heads
(what
tha??)
all
lived
side
by
side...
all
lived
with
1
thing
in
common...
a
propensity
for
being
pumped
up
and
ready
for
conflict.
The
original
Masters
series
embodied
all
that
is
right
in
kids
television
and
toys.
In
turn,
kids
(you
in
1984)
embraced
the
brand.
I
never
took
this
for
granted.
Mattel
knows
how
important
the
MOTU
brand
is
to
the
adult
collector.
That's
precisely
why
we
spend
so
much
time
listening,
promoting
to,
and
conversing
with
the
collector.
We
know
how
important
the
brand
is
to
you.
The
struggle,
after
the
1st
year
of
the
launch,
has
been
to
continue
momentum
with
today's
kids...
kids
with
tons
of
choices
between
internet,
tv,
video
games
and
many,
many
other
distractions,
not
relevant
to
1984.
The
Snakemen
has
been
an
important
element
in
recruiting
a
whole
new
MOTU
generation.
Anyway,
thank
you
again
for
the
opportunity
to
work
with
you
over
the
last
2
years.
I
will
never
forget
it.
The
brand,
in
Brad
Wood's
hands,
is
exactly
where
you'd
want
it
to
be.
Brad
is
the
most
competent
person
I
know.
We
wish Jeremy the best of luck and we will all miss him!
The new voice to the fans is Brad Woods, who
answered the questions in yesterday's WFWTK 7.0.
We still all need to break Brad in! Let's
hope he's prepared!

What the Fans Want to Know lives on in the
new Version
7.0! Jeremy Padawer may be gone,
but the new guru of Masters, Brad
Woods, has stepped up to the plate to answer fans'
questions!
Check out the latest info on upcoming figures, questions that
have plagued fans for months, and licensing/cartoon plans
for Masters!
1.
Could
you
satiate
the
fans
desire
for
any
word
on
figures
for
the
Sorceress,
Modulok,
Multi-Bot,
the
rock
warriors,
or
an
all-new
sculpted
Faker?
We
are
always
looking
into
bringing
new
figures
to
the
line.
While
I
cannot
commit
to
any
of
the
above
mentioned
names,
we
have
looked
into
a
few
of
them
as
possible
exclusives.
In
the
meantime,
I
can
tell
you
we
are
focused
on
rounding
out
the
Snakemen
for
2004.
2.
We
know
that
the
12"
Ultra-Eternia
line
will
begin
with
He-Man
and
Skeletor,
and
be
available
toward
the
end
of
this
year.
Can
you
give
us
any
other
details
about
them?
They're
actually
10"
inches.
The
figures
are
what
we
call
a
Roto-cast
design.
This
basically
means
that
they
hollow
to
accommodate
the
large
size
and
are
targeted
to
a
younger
child.
The
look
is
more
blown
out
with
bigger
muscles
and
a
more
grounded
stance.
These
are
going
into
production
as
we
speak
and
will
be
available
late
December/early
January.
(see
photo
below)
3.
Will
the
collectors'
club
be
available
for
fans
overseas?
It's
a
little
too
early
in
its
development
to
say
for
certain.
We'll
keep
you
posted.
4.
Will
figures
continue
to
incorporate
classic
elements?
(i.e.,
Will
Moss-Man
smell
of
pine?
Will
Webstor
have
his
hook
and
line?)
Only
where
it
makes
sense
to
do
so.
I
know,
that's
a
vague
answer
but
we
do
not
limit
our
design
team
to
recreating
the
old
line,
rather
we
want
them
to
take
the
best
of
best
and
then
build
upon
that
with
new
things.
5.
She-Ra
fans
still
clammer
for
their
heroine;
can
you
give
us
any
hints
about
her
possibly
being
re-introduced
into
the
MotU
line?
No
plans
as
of
yet
but
we
do
want
to
do
the
research
and
see
if
and
when
it
would
make
sense
to
bring
her
back.
6.
Will
the
Snake
Mountain
play
set
more
closely
resemble
its
toon
counterpart,
unlike
the
1980's
version?
If
developed,
Snake
Mountain
would
more
closely
resemble
the
show
equities
as
does
the
rest
of
the
line.
7.
Will
there
be
more
Grayskull
add-ons,
besides
the
Battle
station?
Cannot
comment,
but
I
don't
see
why
not.
8.
The
Sorceress's
falcon
form,
Zoar,
has
made
toon
appearances.
Will
we
see
her
in
toy
form?
See
my
response
for
question
#1.
9.
We
know
that
figures
of
Clawful,
Webstor,
and
Stinkor
are
in
the
works.
When
might
we
see
these
great
villains
hit
stores?
Who
told
you
that?
Was
it
that
crazy
Jeremy,
the
Four
Horsemen,
or
JVS3?
;-)
None
are
officially
on
the
books
as
we
speak.
10.
With
the
unveiling
of
the
snake
Armor
He-Man,
fans
are
concerned
that
He-Man
may
have
an
entirely
new
look
for
every
new
season
of
the
cartoon.
Will
this
be
the
case,
or
may
he
return
to
his
traditional
costume
when
the
threat
of
the
Snakemen
has
passed.
Yet
to
be
determined.
Obviously
the
Snake
Armor
is
indeed
designed
to
fight
this
nemesis
so
the
look
could
return
or
change
again
in
the
future.
We
want
to
stay
as
consistent
as
possible
moving
forward
while
still
bring
newness
to
our
hero.
11.
With
the
release
of
the
new
MotU
line
throughout
various
European
countries,
Australian
fans
are
disappointed
to
find
that
Mattel
Australia
has
stated
that
the
line
will
be
delayed
yet
another
year
down
under.
Can
you
give
any
insight
as
to
why
this
is
the
case?
He-Man
is
afraid
of
sharks.
Actually,
TV
will
not
start
in
Australia
until
2004,
therefore
the
line
will
not
launch
until
that
same
time.
12.
Are
there
plans
for
any
other
female
characters
to
be
produced
as
figures,
aside
from
the
obvious
Sorceress
and
re-decos
of
Teela
and
evil-Lyn?
Sorry,
no
comment.
13.
Fans
are
puzzled
by
the
failure
of
Battle
Glove
Man-At-Arms
to
appear
in
stores.
What's
the
story
on
this
redeco?
We
had
some
last
minute
touches
we
wanted
done
on
the
figure
that
postponed
his
release.
I'll
let
fans
know
when
he's
ready
to
be
added
to
the
mix.
14.
Is
there
any
news
on
possible
MotU
children's
story
books,
novels,
sticker
books,
coloring
books,
or
boardgames?
Not
to
my
knowledge,
sorry!
15.
Many
fans
are
eager
for
figures
of
new
Filmation/MYP
characters
such
as
Count
Marzo,
Hawk,
and
Evil
Seed.
Will
we
see
them?
Return
to
that
darn
Question
1.
16.
Why
were
the
short
character
bios,
(i.e.
"Most
Powerful
Man
in
the
Universe",
"Overlord
of
Evil",
"Captain
of
the
Royal
Guard")
removed
from
the
most
current
waves
of
figures?
Fans
miss
them.
One
of
our
corporate
goals
is
to
make
universal/global
packaging
where
possible.
To
do
this
effectively,
we
needed
to
eliminate
text
due
the
huge
number
of
translations
required.
17.
Are
there
any
upcoming
vehicles
you
can
give
us
insight
on?
Just
the
Spitbull
and
Battle
bones
but
you
guys
know
those
already.
18.
Can
you
tell
us
if
there
are
any
plans
for
MotU
figures
stands
any
time
in
the
near
future?
Fans
would
much
rather
give
their
money
to
Mattel
than
www.SpawnStore.com
for
generic
stands.
No
plans
currently
but
a
good
idea!
19.
Any
other
role-playing
toys,
like
the
electronic
power
sword,
in
the
works
in
the
foreseeable
future?
He-Man's
Snake
Armor,
of
course.

He-Manfans.com
is experiencing some of the same growing pains as He-Man.org
did a couple months ago. In an effort to raise needed funds
for the site, the site's creator is selling his new MOTU
collection. Please check out his
thread and consider offering your support.
We'd also like to take a moment to thank everyone who so generously
donated to the site via the PayPal
donation or eBay
auctions we were running. He-Man.org raised
a little over $1000.00 in site donations and almost $3000.00
in confirmed eBay
auction payments! This money helped to cover a number of site
expenses that had grown to an all-time high and will carry
this site through a number of months to come! On top of that,
Mattel
has now offered to help with some of the high financial costs
of operating He-Man.org!
We will be running a few auctions from time to time to help

first financial hiccup in five years!

Hot News from Germany!
The Masters of the Universe Comic # 1 (Volume
2, #1 from MVCreations)
is available in stores!
A new tidbit of Skeletor's origin was revealed
in the new German comic magazine, which also included a German
translation of the MVCreations
comic and some artwork by Mike
Young Productions. Here's a translated quote, thanks to
Masters fan Holger:
"The evil alchemist Keldor was burnt by his
own magic and went back to the Dark Hemisphere. There he dedicated
himself to the teachings of the dark WARLORD of the old age,
HORDAK! By Hordak's evil magic he was able to mutate into
Skeletor, the Overlord of Evil, once and for all!"
Masters
fan, Geff Bartrand, sent us a photo of a
cool little lollipop game he found at a local 7/11 store.

DarkHorizons.com
and IGN have released the
following information about the potential John Woo,
Masters of the Universe movie. Read the IGN
Article. Dark Horizons article: After Hulk, I think He-Man could be a real
go for Mr Woo. As he will re do what people already perceive
about He-man, his origin, the sacrifice and lies he has to
live with to protect his dual personality. I think we could
looking at a younger prince adam becoming the powerful he
man and doing a Shazam special. A re introduction of He-man
and Skeletor more emotionally intense unfolding story. He-Man:
IGN Filmforce spoke with a source close to John Woo about
the recent rumours the action director was linked to a new
film version of the 'Masters of the Universe' saga and it
seems all the talk is true - though dated: "Our source
confirmed that Woo is indeed very interested in the project
but that was over a year ago. He-Man now seems relegated to
the backburner until a suitable script comes along. Woo, we
were told, still remains interested in the project. Woo is
said to be drawn to He-Man because of its mythic elements
and period setting. He also didn't strike our source as particularly
concerned about 1987's Masters of the Universe (starring Dolph
Lundgren)". The site was also told there's "no way"
that Woo's historical epic "Land of Destiny" can
begin filming in February in Calgary despite Woo's recent
press comments as there's no chance that the production can
be ready in the time. Woo is currently wrapping up his final
week of work on the Ben Affleck sci-fi thriller "Paycheck"
in Vancouver. Thanks to 'JHBlade' & 'Stax'
Masters
fan, Andrew Tarr, was in a gift shop in downtown
Cleveland that had "Puzzle Eggs" from Hog
Wild Toys which look very much like our beloved Meteorbs
even down to the identical paint schemes. However the website
raises questions. The Hog
Wild line has other animals and designs that were never
featured in the MOTU lineup (a horse,
various dinosaurs, and aliens). Did Mattel
have plans for more? Or did these folks just extrapolate their
designs from the originals? Check out their website for a
closer
look!

Rumors have been floating around about a possible He-Man
movie directed by John Woo. At this time
that seems to be exactly what they are...rumors. However,
a couple of fans sent us an
article from SuperHeroHype.com.
Once again, he-man.org has been unable to find substantiated
proof of any plans for a movie. Our advice...don't get your
hopes up...yet.

He-Man.org's own Lioncourt
(Josh de Lioncourt) has provided us with a great summary of
his experience at the 2003 San Diego Comic Con
where Mattel
had a fantastic booth! He also includes some great descriptions
of the upcoming figures! What makes this report even more
unique is Josh himself. Josh
became very ill at the age of 6 and lost his vision due to
an allergic reaction to penicillin. As things worsened, he
was not expected to live. During this time, MotU
was a huge passion of his. He defeated the odds against him,
and today some of his last memories before he lost his sight
are of He-man and the Masters of the Universe.
Josh has remained a super dedicated fan who
appreciates and enjoys everything about the relaunch. Jeremy
Padawer and Mattel
have been happy each year to give Josh a
hands-on take at the line that few fans experience, and this
year was no exception.
Thursday,

July,
dawned
hot
and
much
more
humid
than
is
typical
in
southern
California.
The
lines
of
sci-fi
and
fantasy
enthusiasts
were
as
long
as
ever
outside
the
San
Diego
Convention
Center.
My
mission:
To
buy
Mattel's
exclusive
Masters
of
the
Universe
"Keldor"
figure.
Not
to
mention
pick
up
whatever
odds
and
ends
I
could
to
expand
my
MotU
collection.
But
I
wasn't
the
only
one.
This
became
perfectly
clear
when,
within
just
a
few
short
minutes
of
arriving
at
the
center
after
a
six
block
hike
from
the
best
parking
we
could
find,
we
spotted
a
young
woman
wearing
the
promotional
shirt
that
Mattel
had
given
out
two
years
previous.
Incongruously,
a
Power
Puff
Girl
trinket
swung
from
her
backpack
as
well.
At
last!
10:00
AM
had
arrived.
We
made
a
mad
dash
for
the
Mattel
booth...along
with
half
the
convention
goers,
it
seemed.
However,
there
was
a
catch.
Due
to
the
overwhelming
demand
and
the
unfortunate
few
who
had
decided
to
become
physical
during
the
sale
of
Mattel's
He-Man
repaint
last
year,
a
lottery
system
was
imposed.
Between
10:00
AM
and
2:00
PM,
tickets
were
handed
out
for
a
chance
to
buy
a
Keldor
figure.
A
span
of
numbers
would
randomly
be
selected,
and
the
fans
with
those
tickets
could
purchase
the
exclusive
from
2:00
PM
until
6:00.
Though
I
missed
out
on
Keldor
the
first
day,
I
did
get
a
chance
to
purchase
him
on
Friday.
Overall,
the
plan
and
system
was
a
good
one.
The
lottery
surely
cut
down
on
the
vast
number
of
exhibitors
and
scalpers
planning
to
stock
up
on
Keldors.
Mattel
definitely
went
all
out
for
the
convention.
Huge
banners
of
the
new
Snake
Armor
He-Man
and
the
Snakemen
themselves
gave
us
a
glimpse
into
what
the
future
of
MotU
holds
in
season
#2.
2-ups
and
prototypes
of
figures
were
set
up
in
glass
cases.
A
huge
video
monitor
played
clips
from
the
past
and
future
cartoon
season,
as
well
as
footage
of
the
new
video
game
for
Gamecube,
Playstation
2,
and
Xbox.
All
this
plus
two
beautiful
women
walking
around
dressed
as
Teela
and
Evil-Lyn...what
more
could
a
Masters
fan
have
asked
for?
I'm
a
firm
believer
that
toys
are
meant
to
be
played
with.
If
you're
a
MOC
collector
and
faint
of
heart,
you
may
wish
to
skip
the
next
couple
of
paragraphs.
;-)
So,
I
opened
Keldor.
What
an
amazing
job
the
4HM
and
Mattel
did
on
this
figure.
The
three
interchangeable
heads
are
beautifully
sculpted.
It
is
interesting
to
note
that
the
Skeletor
head
is
made
up
of
one
solid
piece,
rather
than
the
two
separate
ones
on
the
regular
figure.
The
cape
is
perfect,
and
I
love
the
vile
of
acid.
In
fact,
my
only
complaints
with
this
figure
are
pretty
superficial.
One
is
that
his
sword
was
bent
to
heck
in
the
packaging,
which
seems
to
be
a
common
theme
with
the
figures
from
the
first
wave.
The
other
is
that
he
still
has
that
button
sticking
out
of
his
back.
The
theme
of
the
booth
was
largely
the
war
with
the
Snakemen
that
has
been
hinted
at
in
the
next
season.
Prototypes
of
King
Hsss,
Kobra
Kahn,
and
Rattlor
made
their
public
debut,
along
with
many
other
figures.
Here's
a
run
down
and
what
you
can
expect.
•
King
Hsss
--
despite
the
lack
of
ball
jointed
shoulders,
this
figure
is
still
extremely
well
done.
His
human
form
appears
to
be
much
less
prone
to
falling
off
or
apart,
unlike
its
classic
counterpart.
The
great
surprise
here
is
the
added
articulation
of
his
mouth.
•
Rattlor
--
I
certainly
wouldn't
want
to
meet
this
guy
down
a
dark
alley...or
at
noon
at
Times
Square
either,
for
that
matter.
He's
hefty,
probably
along
the
lines
of
Beast
Man
and
Whiplash.
And,
unlike
the
original,
his
now
curved
neck
gives
him
an
impressive
feel
when
it
extends.
He
too
can
open
and
close
his
mouth.
•
Kobra
Khan
--
Kahn
was
always
my
favorite
of
all
the
Snakemen,
and
the
new
interpretation
of
him
leaves
me
entirely
satisfied.
He
is
still
my
favorite.
The
figure
will
indeed
maintain
his
water-spraying
gimmick,
however
his
mouth
will
open
and
close
at
the
appropriate
time.
•Mecha-Crush/Crunch
Skeletor
--
This
figure,
meant
to
be
part
of
the
deluxe
line,
is
quite
an
improvement
over
the
previous
two
deluxe
versions
of
ol'
Bonehead.
The
most
noteworthy
detail
is
a
snake
snacking
glimpse
at
Hordak
on
his
chestplate.
•Snake
Trapper
He-Man
--
This
heroic
counterpart
to
Mecha-Crunch
Skeletor
boasts
a
design
similar
to
the
new
Sorceress.
This
leads
to
the
question:
Will
there
be
a
link
between
Hordak,
the
Sorceress,
and
possibly
the
Snakemen
as
well?
Only
time
will
tell.
•Snake
Hunter
He-Man
--
This
figure,
also
known
as
Snake
Armor,
Snake
Buster,
and
"new
look
for
He-Man
in
season
#2",
is
actually
a
superb
figure,
despite
the
mixed
reviews
it
received
when
unveiled
in
Toyfare
magazine.
I
was
a
bit
concerned
at
the
oversized
power
sword
to
accommodate
for
the
missile
inside
(some
sort
of
green
bolt
of
magical
energy),
but
it
is
executed
well
and
I
have
no
complaints.
•Battle
Bones
--
How
any
kid
or
collector
could
not
love
this
re-design
of
a
classic
toy
is
beyond
me.
No
picture
can
possibly
do
this
toy
justice.
It's
quite
a
bit
larger
than
the
original,
boasts
a
massive
tail
that
swings
up
over
its
back
to
double
as
a
handle,
and
a
pair
of
its
front
teeth
help
hold
the
jaws
closed...much
safer
keeping
for
weaponry
than
the
original.
The
only
down
side
is
that
it
will
certainly
not
be
able
to
hold
the
much
heftier
figures,
such
as
Beast-Man,
Rattlor,
and
Whip-Lash.
The
other
Masters
decked
out
in
new
armor
to
battle
the
Snakemen
are
well
done
and
make
sense.
There
are
no
pointless
versions
here,
like
many
of
the
previous
figures
have
been.
These
figures
make
sense
with
the
story
line
that
is
to
unfold,
and
I'm
thoroughly
satisfied
with
them.
Mekaneck's
gear
to
play
up
his
reconnaissance
duties
is
fantastic.
And
what
can
be
said
for
Jeremy
Padawer,
the
Four
Horsemen,
Ian
Richter,
and
the
other
fine
folks
that
made
up
the
team
at
the
Mattel
booth?
If
ever
Masters
of
the
Universe
was
in
great
hands,
it
is
with
these
people.
Friendly,
upbeat,
and
completely
enthusiastic
about
the
line,
they
made
the
entire
experience
a
pleasure.
Moving
away
from
the
Mattel
booth,
at
noon
on
Thursday
we
dashed
to
the
NECA
booth
where
the
Four
Horsemen,
(the
brilliant
designers
of
the
new
MotU
line),
would
be
making
an
announcement.
A
crowd
gathered,
and
the
excitement
was
high.
They
would
be
sculpting
mini
busts
of
Masters
characters,
to
be
produced
by
NECA.
On
display
was
the
Merman
bust,
which
is
a
work
of
art
if
ever
there
was
one.
The
bust
was
approximately
eight
or
ten
inches
tall
and
the
level
of
detail
and
craftsmanship
in
these
is
not
to
be
beat.
I
can't
wait
to
purchase
one.
Merman
was
a
great
character
to
start
with,
as
well.
Over
the
rest
of
the
weekend,
fans
flooded
in,
out,
through,
and
around
the
Masters
of
the
Universe
display.
It
was
one
of
the
hottest
items
there,
and
it
is
a
testament
to
the
strength
and
power
of
the
brand
that
such
a
high
percentage
of
the
65,000
convention-goers
were
enthusiastic
about
Masters
of
the
Universe.
Even
with
all
that
said,
it
cannot
be
emphasized
enough
that
Jeremy,
the
Horsemen,
Ian,
and
everyone
else
made
the
experience
what
it
was.
Much
like
the
characters
they
sculpt,
promote,
and
love
as
much
as
we
do,
they
are
masters
themselves.

The
Four Horsemen had a big announcement today at the San
Diego comic con. They will be producing a series
of mini-busts for the Masters of the Universe
line! Working with NECA
for production and distribution of the majority of these busts,
they are bound to take the world by storm!
And we heard rumors about a possible He-Man.org exclusive
mini-bust!
Well,
we said
it was big.
Read on
and you'll
see what
we mean.
Over
the last
few years.....
-
Not only
have we
had the
'once in
a lifetime'
chance to
work hand
in hand
with the
toy designers
of the largest
toy company
in the world:
Mattel....
-
Not only
have we
been aloud
to re-envision
and re-vamp
one of the
most successful
action figure
lines of
all time
for a new
generation:
Masters
of the Universe....
-
Not only
have we
had the
good fortune
to have
a meeting
of the minds
with the
super-hero
gurus of
the most
prolific
comic book
company
in history:
DC Comics....
-
Not only
have we
been graced
with the
chance to
take one
of the most
iconic comic
characters
ever created
and add
a little
of our own
flair to
him: Batman....
-
Now, we've
been lucky
enough to
acquire
a license
that we've
been seeking
for some
time, and
that MotU
fans have
been begging
for. Not
only that,
but we've
also been
afforded
the ability
to team
up on this
license
with some
folks who's
company's
name you
may have
heard....especially
recently.
They've
been doing
some great
work for
quite some
time now,
but only
recently
entered,
with much
fanfare
and acclaim,
the action
figure market.
Ever hear
of Hellraiser?
Gremlins?
As
if you didn't
know by
now, the
company
we're shackin'
up with
on this
little deal
is none
other than
NECA! We've
been friends
with some
of the guys
over at
NECA for
quite a
while, and
we're extremely
excited
to finally
be working
with them.
But
rather than
explain
the whole
deal to
you in words,
just take
a peek at
the link
below, and
then go
check out
some other
images in
our new
gallery
section!
Read
the press release here and check out the photos of the first
mini-bust, Mer-Man, below!

Last night's chat session was great! More
fans than ever attended to talk with Jeremy Padawer
from Mattel!
Unfortunately, we found out Jeremy is leaving
Masters, which is very depressing considering
how often Jeremy has communicated with fans
about our concerns and has given answers to many of our questions.
We all wish Jeremy the best of luck and he
will be missed by MANY fans!
But Jeremy had lots of positive news as well!
Read
the transcript to find out about Keldor,
new figures, case assortments, the Collector's Club,
and much much more!!!
(TheShadow) Welcome
Jeremy, and thanks
for taking the
time to be here
with us again.
Let's get started!
(Rhea)
ok...have regular
figures been suspended
to accomodate
for the snakermen
storyline?
(JeremyPadawer)
Starting in November
2003, you will
see the red MOTU
packaging updated
to a snake-green.
The Snakemen are
taking over Eternia.
We are all in
peril.
(Kelly)
Is there any chance
that the Keldor
figure will be
carded and put
on shelves or
is it merely going
to be an exclusive?
(JeremyPadawer)
There is definitely
a chance that
we will be bringing
back Keldor...
however, never
in this deco or
in this packaging
again.
(Evil-Count-Marzo)
Where is my Count
Marzo figure?
;-) Sorry.....I'm
predictable.
(JeremyPadawer)
ECM, great question.
You should start
seeing new series
specific figures
in 2004. Marzo
is a great candidate
for a mid to late
04 introduction.
I can't make a
promise, but it's
something we need
to look into further.
(Worship-God-Marzo)
ok coolness! thanks,
Jeremy!
(alucard)
is there any plans
on making cases
bigger? like 12
figs to a case
instead of just
6 he man's or
skeletor's?
(JeremyPadawer)
yes, we looked
into going to
a 12-pack rather
than 2 6-Pack
assortments. It
was not favored
by our retailers.
In regards to
the case ratio,
we are moving
to a 1:1:1:1:1:1
case ratio...
now, we are at
a 2:2:1:1 and
we're going to
get even closer
to the 1's all
around. Also,
in 2004 there
will
be only 1 Skeletor
and 1 He-Man in
most 6-packs.
As we introduced
newly tooled characters
we will make sure
that they have
a good launch
quantity... potentially
go 2 per casepack
for those
figures. And,
ps, thanks .orgers
for the direction
on that.
(Sllohcin)
Will we see 'cartoon-sized'
figures for the
6" line?
eg. Large Ram
Man, Clawful,
etc.
(JeremyPadawer)
Sllohcin, yes...
in November we
will release a
12'' Skeletor
and He-Man figure,
with articulating
arms, legs, neck,
wrists... sword/staff,
etc. These are
more cartoon'd
out as the chests
are bigger (a
la Ninja Turtles)
and bulkier overall...
however, maintaining
the Horsemen's
cool sculpt.
(Jast0r)
Jeremy, will MYP
be designing the
rest of the figures?
I'd like to see
more 4H designs,
personally.
(JeremyPadawer)
Jast0r, no. MYP
has not designed
any MOTU figures.
MYP provides a
cartoon concept
and our internal
design team reviews
and redesigns.
At this point,
only the cartoon
image is created.
The Four Horsemen
then turn the
cartoon into a
toy... they design
the figures. Then,
our internal design
team reviews the
Horsemen's sculpts.
If I had to rank
order the input
into the figures,
the order would
go....
Horsemen
- sculpt figures,
interpret tv show
image.
Internal Design
Team - manages
entire process.
MYP - creates
cartoons.
(Jast0r)
i get the feeling
the fans don't
want to see designs
that are interpreted
from the tv show
image... rather
see 100% original
4H designs
(AAAprime)
Thanks Do you
know when the
classic or new
series will be
available on dvd
and we will miss
you
(JeremyPadawer)
Thanks. One of
the things that
we will be doing
in Nov/Dec is
packing out some
figures with VHS
& DVD. So,
there will be
some DVDs on the
market then. I'll
bet that moving
into 2005, you'll
see a TON of DVDs...
(AlienPathfinder)
How will the Keldor
figures be distributed
at SDCC?
(JeremyPadawer)
750 per day on
Thursday, Friday,
Sat and sunday.
(hemanrep)
)))))))))))))))JEREMY
is it a lottery???
(JeremyPadawer)
We'll see. we
could potentially
move to a lottery.
(JeremyPadawer)
At one point we
had a prince adam
model kit that
you could turn
into He-man...
and a keldor that
you could turn
into Skeletor...
this was ultimately
rejected.
(NealHyde)
Jeremy, am I correct
that Hallmark
Entertainment
(subsidiary of
Artisen) still
owns the rights
(or partially)
to the Filmation
Series?
(JeremyPadawer)
Neal, it's complicated.
I don't have the
contract, but
there is truth
there.
(TungLashor)
I'm hoping that
only He-Man and
Skeletor will
get the "snake"
treatment and
that we will still
get "normal"
secondary characters,
right????
(JeremyPadawer)
Tunglashor, yes.
(Kafos)
CAN YOU GIVE ANY
INFO ON THE ADULT
CLUB JEREMY?:):):):)
(JeremyPadawer)
Kafos, it's in
the works for
sure...basically,
probably have
4 exclusives per
year. Club will
be international
as well.
(JeremyPadawer)
The case assortments
have been so,
so at best. They've
gotten better,
right? slowly
but surely. They
will continue
to get better.
You can't get
better than 1:1:1:1:1:1
(NamesJay)
Will the 1:1:1:1:1:1
assortment be
an ongoing thing,
or just temporary
?
(JeremyPadawer)
Ongoing.
(Orko)
Jeremy...are there
any new playsets
coming on the
horizon?
(JeremyPadawer)
Yes.
(Lookie)
Snake Mountain
2004 Orko
(JeremyPadawer)
I didn't say it.
(Lookie)
just trying to
help you out Jeremy...
sorry if I say
anything wrong
(JeremyPadawer)
No way! :) fine
job.
(AAAprime)
IS the line in
trouble?
(JeremyPadawer)
AAAPrime, the
more kid collectors
we have the better...and
frankly...
(danielsan52)
Photog....any
chance?
(JeremyPadawer)
Photog... that
would rock.
(the-parasite-eve)
Even though I
don't care much
about the Sorceress...
the more women
in the line, the
merrier!
(JeremyPadawer)
do you want to
see sorceress?
(Kafos)
Jeremy, you told
me the last chat
Sorceress is coming,
so I'm going to
hold you to that!!!:)
(JeremyPadawer)
sorceress might
be an exclusive
to the new club.
(Bring-She-Ra-PoP-Back)
That means the
Sorceress wont
be released to
the general public??
(JeremyPadawer)
Not necessarily...
(Simon)
JeremyPadawer,
Uses of an AOL
disk, #49. Hidden/spare
key holder (crack
open 1 side, insert
key and then place
near door. Completely
safe...who would
want an AOL disk?)
(JeremyPadawer)
Very funny!
(Manuel)
Was the question
about the release
of hordak already
answered? When
will he be released?
(JeremyPadawer)
The Horde is coming...
(TylerM23)
Jeremy - will
we ever get the
chance to buy
a reissue Eternia?
(JeremyPadawer)
Tyler, ehh..
(IceWolf)
Jeremy---Clawful
info? At least
say no or yes
(JeremyPadawer)
Yes.
(VaderLives)
jeremy, you know
you love mosquitor...
(JeremyPadawer)
it's all about
longevity. And
longevity = kids.
(Eagle)
Jeremy: After
20 years, why
is it that the
characters are
nearly exactly
the same as they
were before? Why
haven't they aged?
(JeremyPadawer)
Because this is
all about taking
another perspective
at a same timeframe.
Like two painters.
(Drev)
Is there anyway
for some .org
memebrs to get
on the list for
a Keldor? Yes,
i am one that
didn't sign (I
read the thread
in a different
way :P)
(JeremyPadawer)
Unfortunately,
I don't know.
The He-Man.org
team is handling
this. Maybe they
can do a lotto
for the remaining
figures if there
weren't 500 folks
signed up. But,
again, this is
up to them entirely.
(Flidais31)
I believe you
said that the
sorceress was
possibly a club
exclusive, are
there any plans
for more female
characters in
the line?
(JeremyPadawer)
Yes, in 2003 we
will issue the
1st evil lyn deco.
In 2004 we will
issue her second
deco. Teela will
also be re-released
in new deco. Sorceress
might be an exclusive
only, but you
never know.
(Kafos)
hi again:) just
wondering what
the chances are
of seeing the
king and queen?
maybe in the club?:)
(JeremyPadawer)
that would be
a club only issue.
the king and queen
are not resonating
with kids.
(Rokkon)
Hi Jeremy, I was
wondering if you
could give us
just anything,
anything... a
tiny little hint
in the way of
She-Ra or perhaps
Force Captain
Adora showing
up with Hordak?
(JeremyPadawer)
I can't. :( She-Ra
and Hordak are
unfortunately
out of my time
horizon to talk
about... remember,
we have to get
this stuff before
the retailers
first. If they
never hit the
market... :(
(bfowler)
Any infomation
on a Griffin toy?
(JeremyPadawer)
I've announced
the upcoming vehicles
- Spit Bull, Battle
Bones and Windraider.
PS - it looks
like we might
be able to go
with the (S) instead
of the (Z). Griffin
has not been developed.
(Lookie)
Don't you feel
that Snake Strike
Skeletor takes
away from the
originality of
Squeeeze. Perhaps
some other feature
would be better
suited?
(JeremyPadawer)
Yes. I agree that
Squeeeze was probably
the way to go.
We took a left
instead of a right.
This does not
AT ALL limit a
future Squeeeze.
(Uglor)
When will we see
clawful?
(JeremyPadawer)
ok... you've broken
me. I'm ready
to make an announcement
regarding the
Horde. But, I
just got to tell
you...there is
an (it depends)
here. Are you
ready?
(JeremyPadawer)
HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT.
(JeremyPadawer)
The evil horde
is waiting in
the wings to attack
eternia. Please
be patient. IT
will happen.
(JeremyPadawer)
There is one issue.
(JeremyPadawer)
And, it gets to
the heart of why
the snakemen are
taking such a
big role. Without
kids, we can't
survive... Kids
responded incredibly
positively to
the snakemen.
They wanted more
action and they
wanted He-Man
to have new powers,
armor and weaponry.
(JeremyPadawer)
The Snakemen,
ironically, are
coming to save
Eternia. So, if
there is no Horde,
it just means
that the Snakemen
literally take
over.
(PositronicMan)
Assuming we ever
get minicomics...Will
they have to be
trilingual?
(JeremyPadawer)
Great question.
Assuming that
you do, I'd prefer
to do individual
language comics...
however, it won't
be my choice.
Also, as you know,
Mattel strongly
prefers 3 language
packaging and
product.
(
JeremyPadawer
) I will never
forget you guys.
Frankly, I'm not
going away. I'll
just be wearing
more hats.
(Emiliano)
Jeremy, I'll miss
not meeting you
this year, I hope
to come visiting
in 2004 :-)
(JeremyPadawer)
of course, Emiliano!!
(JeremyPadawer)
It would be great
to see Snake Mountain.
And, if all goes
right...can't
say for sure...
ya know.
(mrtallyman)
I don't understand.
What does he mean
that they're saving
Eternia. Is MOTU
not doing well?
Are the Snake
Men the saving
grace?
(JeremyPadawer)
Let me explain...He-Man
is surviving.
It most definitely
needs a stronger
kid base.
(Guest8451)
Thanks so much
Jeremy. For all
you've done for
the line (which
is your job, i
guess) and for
keeping the line
of communication
between mattel
and the fans open.
You've gone above
and beyond your
duty. And we will
all be ever grateful.
(JeremyPadawer)
Guest8451, thanks.
(Jelostas)
Is there a chance
that we could
have a create-a-character
contest for the
cartoon series
or toy? It would
be an awesome
thing for us fans
- even if it's
just a cameo or
something?
(JeremyPadawer)
Jelostas, I'd
love to do this.
(Lookie)
well the Horde
looks like a freak
show, while the
Snake Men look
like... Snake...
Men
(JeremyPadawer)
Lookie, and snakes
are more relevant
to kids for sure.
(Guest8451)
Well, each person
matters and can
make a difference.
Even if we just
turn one kid onto
the series, we've
doubled the fanbase.
Have boy nephews
or little cousins??
Give em he-man
toys!
(JeremyPadawer)
exactly.
(Unoriginal)
Jeremy, will we
be seeing all
new characters
that have never
been a part of
MotU before?
(JeremyPadawer)
unoriginal, yes.
(TheShadow)
Ok everyone we
have to end the
Q&A eary but
Jeremy still has
his announcement
to make
(TheShadow)
Take it away,
Jeremy!
(JeremyPadawer)
First, let me
tell you how long
I've been wanting
to tell you this.
About 3 months
ago, Val and the
MV group started
a thread...
(JeremyPadawer)
Instead of making
4,500 Keldors...
we made 5,000.
500 Keldors are
going to be distributed
through he-man.org
ONLY. These will
go to the 500
fans who placed
their names on
the thread.
(JeremyPadawer)
We are doing this
for many reasons...but,
the most important:
(JeremyPadawer)
for the last 3+
years he-man.org
has been the heart
and soul of MOTU.
MVCreations, Val
Staples and the
team there, are
the heart at he-man.org.
The soul belongs
to the fans.
(TheShadow)
I am sure this
is exciting news
for all the fans!
(JeremyPadawer)
That's announcement
#1. So, announcement
#2:
(JeremyPadawer)
I will no longer
be managing Masters
of the Universe
come July 22nd,
the day after
Comic-Con. I will
be involved...
in that I will
be working with
the new team.
And, I am a big
fan... so, I will
be involved from
that aspect as
well.
(JeremyPadawer)
However, my time
has come to move
on. I will be
taking over all
Nickelodeon and
Fox brands at
Mattel. This will
be an exciting
opportunity...huge,
really.
(TheShadow)
Everyone here
wishes you luck
with those properties
as well. :)
(JeremyPadawer)
Thank you.
(JeremyPadawer)
In truth, it is
a mixed bag for
me. The downside
is that I will
truly miss you.
But, I'll still
be around, so
that's great.
(TheShadow)
You are always
welcome here to
chat ;)
(JeremyPadawer)
And, I will be.
But, what about
#3?
(JeremyPadawer)
#3...
(JeremyPadawer)
mwwahahaha. Should
I become cryptic
one last time?
(JeremyPadawer)
no. I can't.
(JeremyPadawer)
By the end of
the year, we will
be launching an
adult collector
club at Mattel,
which will specifically
offer exclusives
to the MOTU adult
collector. This
will include some
of the figures
you've always
wanted.
(TheShadow)
Wow, that is excellent
news for the fans!
(JeremyPadawer)
One more time...Thank
you.
(TheShadow)
Thank you again
also Jeremy for
taking the time
out to answer
questions from
the fans and to
give us these
exclusive announcements.
(Lioncourt)
You will be missed,
Jeremy.
(JeremyPadawer)
Lioncourt, Shadow,
Val, Emiliano,
and many many
others...
(JeremyPadawer)
It's a family.
I see the 3100+
members of the
message boards
as cousins. So,
that will be tough.
(JeremyPadawer)
One last thing:
MOTU will be in
great hands.
(JeremyPadawer)
Holy cow! I've
forgotten to mention
the Horsemen!
(TheShadow)
For Jeremy: (CornboyMayse)
please pass along
to Jeremy that
I'm here, and
the four of us
will miss him
(JeremyPadawer)
thanks guys.
(Evil-Count-Marzo)
Jeremy, are you
still gonna visit
here and post
whenever ya can?
(JeremyPadawer)
ECM, - absolutely.
(Evil-Count-Marzo)
YAY!!!!
(CornboyMayse)
Jeremy. We'll
miss all of your
help, buddy.
(JeremyPadawer)
alright, that's
it for me. See
you in San Diego?
See you on the
boards for sure.
See you soon!

Join Mattel'sJeremy Padawer on Sunday, July 13th at 6pm
PST / 9pm EST for some special news for Masters fans!!!
The Four Horsemen have some things to say about the upcoming
Snake Men wave.
Regarding Serpent Strike skeletor...
"Rest assured that this figure does not negate the
chances of a Sssqueeze figure ever being
produced as some people have been reporting."
Regarding General Rattlor and King
Hsss...
"Both of these were a design collaboration between
Mike Young Productions and Mattel's
in-house design team. To be honest, we didn't even know that
these characters were planned until we were sent the images
to begin sculpting them."
Regarding Kobra Kahn...
"The new version of Kobra Khan was
originally designed here at Four
Horsemen Studios and then submitted to Mattel.
The design was then passed back and forth between Mike
Young Productions and Mattel,
and then came back to us pretty much un altered, but drawn
in a more animated style." Check
out the entire thread!
The Battlestation playset appears to
be out, due to an abrupt appearance on eBay.
They all seem to be arriving in California at the moment.
So keep your eyes open, especially in the western states!
Back
to School time! Fans have begun finding MotU
lunchbags and backpacks at Wal-Mart!
Thanks to Thr0454 for the lunchbag picture.
Toyfare
