The
UK is getting it good. Now the toys are hitting stores! That's
right, fans have reported finding the new MotU
line at Toys'R'Us
in the UK! Spotted so far have been Skeletor,
Beast Man, Merman, Battle
Cat, Panthor, the Battle
Hawk, and the new Castle Grayskull
which includes box art of Zodac, Roboto,
and Evil-Lyn. Prices for regular figures
were £7.99, for the cats and Battle Hawk
£14.99, and for Castle Grayskull £49.99.

A
number of fans have reported finding the new Battle
Armor He-Man and Skeletor deluxe
figures (formally called "Exo Suit") at
Wal-Mart
stores.
Also, Wave 4 heros (Martial Arts He-Man,
Sy-Klone, and Prince Adam)
and wave 3 villains (Fire Armor Skeletor,
Whip-Lash and TwoBad) have
begun shipping to Wal-Mart
stores with an exclusive(?) video entitled "The
World of He-Man" which gives a run down
of the places, races, characters, and story arc depicted in
season #1 of the new MotU cartoon. Check
it out!

Yet
another Masters fan has found a variation on the Sam's

SB He-Man and either Mekaneck
or Orko, but this time with the new wave
3 villains, Fire Armor Skeletor and either
Whip-Lash or TwoBad.

Sam's
Club stores have begun stocking a 2002 Grayskull
(still including the Action Chip feature) with four figures
attach. So far, reported combinations include Smash
Blade He-Man, Spin Blade Skeletor,
Tri-Klops, and either Orko
or Mekaneck. Be aware that Sam's
Club requires a membership to shop at their locations.
Also, another fan has found the Sam's
ClubGrayskull with attached figures
including TrapJaw instead of Tri-Klops.
Masters fans searching for the Wave 3 villains
have also reported finding cases with 2 Fire Armor
Skeletors, 2 TwoBad, 1 Whip-Lash,
and 1 Tri-Klops.
Val
Staples has posted the rest of his collection
on eBay which includes many of the rare and hard-to-find
collectibles of the classic toy line. Please take a moment
or two to browse through the many listings of his childhood
collection and consider placing a bid in order to help support
He-Man.org. These auctions end throughout
the day on Friday and into the weekend. Thank you!

Good News for German He-Man fans! Panini
Germany (under the sig "Dino Comics") is planning
to debut the new comic in Germany around late-July/August.
The comic issues will be part of a Masters of the
Universe Magazine that's supposed to focus on the
target audience (kids) and includes a plethora of
information about the world of He-Man. The
series will start with US-issue #1 (Vol.II). There will be
no variant-covers released, but some of the original variant-cover
art will get reprinted inside the magazine in mini-wallpaper
format.
No word if this magazine will ever include the "Shard
of Darkness" 4-parter and the "Icons of Evil"
one-shots.
Wave 2 mini figures are finally hitting stores here in the
States. Fans have spotted the singly carded Jungle
Attack He-Man, Cobra Armor Skeletor,
Orko, Teela, TrapJaw
and Tri-Klops figures at Dollar
Tree stores.
The
Four Horsemen recently confirmed that the new Snake
Armor He-Man figure, (the new look for He-Man
in Season #2 of the cartoon), which was unvailed in ToyFare
#72, will have elbow articulation, but not knee.

We'd like to take a moment to thank everyone for all the support
we have received so far to raise money for He-Man.org.
Thanks to you, the fans, He-man.org has raised
enough money to pay for one month of hosting! Thank you so
much for your generosity! And by bidding on Val Staples'
childhood collection, we can probably raise enough money to
pay for two more months!!!
But it hasn't stopped there. Other fans have donated items
with the hope to raise the needed funds to keep He-Man.org
going far beyond three more months!
Joe Amaro
has donated the actual custom Count Marzo
seen in Issue 72 of ToyFare!
Check
out this beautiful one-of-a-kind masterpiece!
Emiliano
Santalucia and Enza Fontana, artists
on the new comic series, have donated original production
art for the new comic series from MVCreations!
Check out these beautiful works of art!
If
He-Man.org is a resource you look to for
news, info, and a fan community for Masters of the
Universe, both new and old, She-Ra: Princess
of Power, and the New Adventures of He-Man,
we humbly ask that you might consider making the smallest
contribution. If the thousands of fans who visit the site
daily donated at least one dollar, it could fund the site
for months to come! Thank you so much for your time and dedication to
He-man.org!

He-Man.org
is expensive!
Well, at least that's what I've come to find out. This is
Val Staples, the guy who foots the bill each
month for He-Man.org. This is a personal
message to the fans out there of this site and what all has
gone into it over the years.
A long time ago, He-Man.org was going to
shut down. The expense was becoming too great. But, I didn't
want that to happen. I took on the financial responsibility
for the site a few years ago and haven't looked back. Since
that time, I've spent thousands upon thousands out of my own
pocket to keep He-Man.org going.
I wish this was a measure of how large of a fan I am, but
instead, I think of it as an indication of my passion about
the property and my hopes it will always live on...not only
through our generation that was raised on this spectacular
concept, but hopefully through a new generation that can enjoy
and reap the same values we did from the Masters of
the Universe. The new cartoon and toy line has shown
this promise.
But as the popularity for the newly revamped property grows,
so does that of He-Man.org. And with that
growth, the site's expenses soar higher and higher. Today
the site's monthly bills far exceed what would have once funded
He-Man.org for an entire year.
We once tried to advertise on He-Man.org,
which was a complete disaster. Not only for lack of revenue,
but also for fans who did not care for banners and pop-ups
cluttering up their favorite fan site, which we definitely
understood. So, we reverted back to the old tried and true..
Namely my wallet.
We want He-Man.org to be a safe haven and
welcome community for fans of He-Man, She-Ra,
and all characters found in this incredible universe. And
because of that, as a fan, I realize there are things I must
do to make sure this dream stays alive.
That
being said, you will find links below to two things:
donation to He-Man.org via PayPal
and a long set of eBay
auctions. We will be continually adding to these auctions over the
next couple of days with many rare and wonderful items.
The
donation link is not something I'd like to ask of any fan.
I want you to come here, free of efforts to take your money.
But if any of you are inclined to donate the smallest amount,
it would help to keep this great fan site alive and active
for many months to come. This is a site that has been important
to the rebirth of Masters of the Universe,
and we intend to keep it going as long as the internet exists.
The eBay
auctions are of my very own childhood collection. These loose
figures make up the bulk of Classic Masters of the
Universe photos shown here on He-Man.org.
These toys sparked my imagination for years, giving me a place
to where I'd escape the world around me. They fueled my artistic
senses, they help to root the strong moral lessons taught
to me in the cartoon, and, above all else, they made me happy.
Some are a little scuffed, some are missing an item or two,
but that's because they were toys! And I enjoyed them for
what they were! My hope is that you might bid on these auctions
to bring a piece of my own happiness into your home, and keep
this site going for as long as there are fans to enjoy Masters
of the Universe.
I had dreamed that one day I could share these very toys with
my own children. And even though I know now I will not be
able to do that, I do know through these auctions, we are
all helping to give life to a resource where ALL
children can look to discover the happiness I was once given,
and still receive today, from the vision that is Masters
of the Universe.
Thank you for your time.

These
past couple of months have been the busiest ones yet here
at He-Man.org!
That goes hand-in-hand with big site expenses.
We're sure you've noticed a few auctions running lately, and
this is no exception.
Some bad news for Australian, Masters of the Universe
fans. Only weeks away from the initial release of the new
toy line in June 2003, Mattel
has announced that Australia fans won't be
getting them now till some time in 2004.
Regretfully, Joe Denton, background artist
on the Princess of Power cartoon, has recently
passed away. But, we can still enjoy watching Mr.
Denton do one of the many things he did best at www.JoeDenton.com
, and that's bring a work of art to life.

Find
out the scoop on some of the things you've been dying to know! Mattel'sJeremy Padawer spills the beans on some real
important news for fans in...
1. Any chance for generic
figures such as Royal
Guardsman, Avionians,
or Skeletor's bone warriors?
Skeletor's bone
warriors will begin showing
up on shelves in the next
2 months with the release
of the Mutant Slime Pit
Playset! The Slime Pit
playset will include an
exploding Bone Warrior,
born from slime and destined
to explode under the weight
of He-Man's sword!
2.
Would you tell us how
many chase Orko and Trapjaw
figures were made?
We made less than
5,000 Orko and Trapjaw
figures. In the future,
chase figures will be
more readily available
to the adult collector.
However, remember, once
a chase figure leaves
the shelf, it won't return.
3.
Does the new Fists of
Fury He-Man figure, which
bares a striking resemblance
to Fisto, dim our chances
for seeing Fisto in future
waves?
Absolutely not.
Fisto is on his way. Fisto
will hit shelves in November
2003!
4.
Since the action chips
have been removed from
all upcoming waves, can
we expect any new pack
ins with the figures?
Yes. We will continue
to pack videos on figures
from the new entertainment.
You will see this in even
wider release in Fall
2003 and in Spring 2004.
We also have not forgotten
about the mini comics.
You may see mini comics
on limited figures as
we move into 2004.
5. A lot of fans missed
out on rarer figures such
as Teela and Mer-Man before
the new ratios were introduced
for the cases. Is there
any chance of seeing these
two beloved characters
refreshed in the near
future?
Absolutely. However,
they will not be released
in the original paint
scheme. For Mer-Man, you
will see a more intricate
paint theming; More "paint-ops."
6. Fans have noticed far
fewer MOTU commercials
being aired in comparison
to other popular toy lines.
Is Mattel looking into
producing and airing more
television spots?
Yes. You might have noticed
the release of the Skeletor
vs. He-Man ads. This will
continue to air throughout
2003. In the 1st year
of release, MOTU has actually
aired 6 commercials -
a very aggressive advertising
stance in terms of production.
In Fall 2003, we will
advertise both the Mutant
Slime Pit and Castle Grayskull
- along with more figure
advertising.
7. The fans really want
their mini comics with
the figures, any more
information on this?
Again, this could
be done in limited quantities.
Frankly, we're considering
this as part of the He-Man
Club initiative!
8. You mentioned in the
previous Q&A that
ratings were not a consideration
in the time-slot change
of the cartoon to Saturday
evenings. Would you help
quell fans concerns about
the show only being renewed
for another thirteen episodes
in season 2 vs 26?
We have been renewed
for 13 episodes at a time...
this doesn't necessarily
mean that only 13 episodes
will air in the next season.
There is still a possibility
that 26 new episodes will
deliver for season 2.
Of course, the more the
better from a branding
and storyline standpoint.
A little "Did You
Know?" -- Did you
know that between the
original episodes of He-Man
from the early 80's, She-Ra,
the New Adventures of
He-Man in the late 80's
and the new release of
He-Man in 2002, there
have been MORE MOTU episodes
than Simpsons episodes!
9. Might we expect any
more updated vehicles
from the classic line?
The upcoming DragonWalker
bares little or no resemblance
to its classic counterpart.
(The Wind Raider as featured
on the new cartoon series
is in high demand by the
fans.)
The Wind Raider
is in development for
Fall 2004. It will look
more like the classic
counterpart than the Dragon
Walker. The Dragon Walker,
hitting shelves very soon,
is incredibly cool, with
its mechanical stomping
action... and will play
an awesome role in the
entertainment for season
#2.
10. The word "Battle"
is becoming a cliche with
the new line with as many
times as it has been used.
Will we have a bit more
variety in upcoming toys'
names?
Yes. We know that
the "Battle"
word is used often...
The issue for us is finding
words that make sense
from a global perspective.
"Battle" is
a globally friendly word,
as ironic as that might
seem. We've challenged
our copywriting team to
be creative and to deliver
names that match the entertainment
and some how work globally.
11. As long as you're
giving us all of these
different versions of
He-Man and Skeletor, will
we see a Skeletor with
a cape as he appears in
the new cartoon series?
Great idea. Another
possibility for the Collector
Club.
12. Do you have any sales
figures (percentage-wise)
of MOTU's fan base of
collectors vs children
that you could share with
us? Are you satisfied
with the reception MOTU
has received from the
youth of today?
I can't share
specifics. I will tell
you that the collector
base on MOTU is one of
the largest of any adult
collector brand... in
terms of % of overall
sales and in terms of
number of collectors.
However, rest assured,
that the overwhelming
% of figure purchase influencers
are under 8 years old.
13. Any more information
you can pass along to
the fans regarding DVD
releases of either new
or classic cartoon series?
Regarding DVD
releases and VHS releases,
I, unfortunately, can
not share information
regarding distribution
partners until the terms
are finalized. Until then,
we will continue to pack
out new episodes in VHS
(and in DVD format) to
figures.
14. In a previous Q&A
you mentioned that Mattel
was revisiting the possibility
of additions to the Commemorative
Series. Can you give any
more specifics on this?
Again, this would
be driven through a Collector
Club... You should watch
for more announcements
on this in the next 2
months.

Fans
and collectors have wondered why more of the Heroes
Wave 3 and Villains Wave 2 have been shipping. Especially
when it appeared the Moss Man promo was helping
to clear the shelves of extra Smash Blade He-Man
and Spin Blade Skeletor figures, allowing for
new case mixes (2:2:2) to hit shelves containing Heroes
Wave 4 and more.
Mattel's
Jeremy Padawer has seen these concerns, and
wanted to give fans and collectors the inside scoop on this
VHS / Figure promotion. A promotion that doesn't interfere with
plans for other figures that are currently shipping.
"Mattel
definitely understands
your concerns regarding
additional Spin-Blade
Skeletor and
Smash-Blade He-Man
figures. "
"The
target market for this
particular promotion is
primarily children. McDonald's
will be doing a Masters
Happy Meal starting
May 2nd. We believe that
MOTU
at McDonald's
will peak the interest
of many, many children
who have either not yet
had the opportunity to
experience the new MOTU
toy line or the new cartoon
on Cartoon
Network."
"I
say primarily kids because
there are a whole host
of adults who love MOTU
who are also unaware of
its re-release. The video
promotion will allow the
newest MOTU
fans to experience both
the figures and entertainment
all at once. It will also
provide the adults just
realizing that MOTU
is back the opportunity
to re-experience the all
new MOTU.
"
"With
the case ratio mix in
mind, we shipped 2:2:2
& 2:2:1:1 mixes with
He-Man
and Skeletor
making up no more than
30% of those mixes. We
are keenly aware of the
thousands of you who are
still hunting for Mekaneck,
Teela,
Orko,
Trap-Jaw
and Tri-Klops,
and are making those figures
more readily available
through this promotion."
"We're
also aware of the demand
for Masters
on VHS
and DVD.
You can be sure that we
will make more videos
available in the future,
packed out with all new
figures."
"You
can look forward to approximately
55 MOTU
figures (heroic and
evil) to be released
in the next 18 months.
This will include all
newly tooled figures,
figures refreshed with
all new accessories/weaponry,
and redecos of the key
characters. You can also
look forward to He-Man
and Skeletor
making up no more than
35% of the shipped figures,
which is almost exact
even ratios with the other
figures in each wave assortment."
"Again,
thank you for your passionate
feedback, and Mattel
promises more promotions
that will specifically
target the adult collecting
segment as well."

Mattel
announced its earnings today. (Thursday: April 17).
While a mixed bag overall, Fans will be happy to read this
tidbit from the report: "In the entertainment category

of the He Man and Masters of the Universe
brand." It seems that He-Man still
has The Power! You can read the full report

Exclusive
Moss Man! You heard right! Mattel
has released an exclusive Moss Man that is
produced in the tradition of the classic line by flocking
the new Beast Man figure!
Here's how to get one: · Purchase three Masters of the Universe
6" figures (preferrably regular, not deluxe. And not
vehicles, accessories, or playsets) at the store price and
send in your original receipt for a limited edition Moss
Man figure.
· This offer is valid only between April 11, 2003 and
April 30, 2003 or while supplies last so the faster you send
in your receipt, order form, and $5 for shipping and handling
the better your chances are to get one of these special figures.
· All purchases must be on the same receipt.
· The receipt must be dated between April 11, 2003
and April 30, 2003.
· All receipts dated April 17, 2003 and after MUST
be accompanied by 3 UPC proofs of purchase from the back of
figure packages.
· All requests must be postmarked on or before May
11, 2003 to qualify
A few things to note on this offer: · Moss Man is limited to 6500
figures.
· This isn't the only Moss Man for
the new line. There will be a newly sculpted Moss
Man.
· The figures must be bought at only Toys'R'Us,
KayBee,
K-Mart,
Wal-Mart,
and Target.
· You can submit multiple requests for Moss
Man figures. But Mattel
will only be honoring one request per household. If all requests
are satisfied, and Moss Man figures remain,
Mattel
will then begin filling additional requests.

Now that Wave 3 is out, will you show up images of
everything due out in Wave 4 and tell us/give us clues
what we will see in Wave 5, along with projected release
dates?
The cat is definitely out of the bag on
this one. Wave 4, as you already know, includes Prince
Adam, Martial Arts He-Man, and Sy-Klone. This wave
should be hitting stores in the next few weeks. Wave
5 will include Ice Armor He-Man, Man-E-Faces, Buzz-Off,
and Fists of Fury He-Man. Wave 6 will include Roboto,
Zodak and a very cool He-Man and Stratos.
Expect wave 4 to hit stores on or about 4/1... wave
5 approx 6/1... wave 6 approx 9/1... wave 7 approx
11/1.
2.
Are there any plans for future figures with voice
chips like the Battle Sound figures?
At this point, we do not have talking or battle sounds
figures in the 2003 line. However, this can be altered
for 2004's Fall deluxe segment. What are your thoughts
- should we go for the internal talking feature or
have even cooler weapons and accessories?
FANS, THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK OUT!
Fill out this form and let Mattel know what you'd
like to see!
3.
We've had the deluxe Battle Sound and Samurai figures
thus far. Will you tell us anything about future deluxe
figures?
Absolutely... in Fall 2003 watch for the
Battle Armor He-Man and Skeletor, with kick-ass armor
and a combat feature. Basically, you will be able
to battle with these guys a la Rock Em' Sock Em' style.
Don't worry - as always we've tried our best to balance
the needs of the collector (cool sculpt) with the
needs of our kids (awesome battle play). Not that
we adults don't play with our toys... or at least
I do!!
4.
You've mentioned that we shouldn't rule out mini comics
in future waves of figures. Will you tell us any frame
of reference how long we might have to wait until
mini comics could possibly become reality?
We've definitely talked about the use
of mini-comics in our 6'' figure segment. This is
something that we have not ruled out, especially as
we move forward into 2004.
5.
We already know of the Castle Grayskull with changes
next fall, but will we be getting any smaller play
sets in 2003?
Absolutely. You will be getting the Battle
Station playset in Fall 2003. The He-Man Battle Station
Playset is a heroic, 2-tower playset which includes:
1) Opening drawbridge; 2) Break away siege tower -
into three pieces; 3) Battering ram; 4) Catapult with
2 lauching boulders; 5) Spring-loaded siege tower
missile launcher. You can play with it as a stand
alone playset, or connect it to Castle Grayskull for
ultimate battling action. This is a super cool, mid-priced
playset.
6.
Will any elements of "The New Adventures of He-Man"
find their way into the new MOTU?
Limited - I'm sure Mike Young Productions
wouldn't rule out the use of characters and some storyline.
7.
Will there be any different packaging or exclusive
items for Europe and/or the rest of the world?
Local markets will run exclusive events.
In the 1st year of release, we will definitely focus
on the key figures and vehicles of the series... as
we did in the US. One item will not be available internationally
- the Bashin' Beetle. I would recommend any major
retailer that has an online store for that one. Instead,
we are bringing forward the Land Battle Vehicles internationally
for Fall 03.
9.
Will you tell us how well MOTU is doing in terms of
sales and cartoon ratings? (Particularly Holiday sales)
Holiday sales were through the roof. Masters
of the Universe was a top-10 brand for 2002 in terms
of monthly sales. Overall, Masters of the Universe
has been a smashing success. Regarding cartoon ratings,
they started out strong and have become even stronger.
As of now, Masters is winning every time slot in which
it competes!
13.
Will you tell us about any future store exclusive
like the Wal-Mart figures w/videos, the K-Mart w/trading
cards, and the Target 2pack w/comic?
As you are already aware, TRU 2-Pack with "Courage
of Adam" has hit the market running, and it is
selling briskly. I don't expect this exclusive to
stick around retail for very long!
14.
Will you tell us when we might see an addition to
the Masters line up who was not released as a figure
in the original toy line?
Absolutely! In the 2nd season we will
be exploring the great battles of the _______. This
will be followed by the return of _______ in season
3. You won't be disappointed.
15.
Many fans would like to see Titus and Megator, who
were not widely available in the original series,
get the 4HM treatment. Is this likely?
Potentially as a Con exclusive.
16.
Many fans are still seeing similar case breakdowns
as Wave 1 & 2 Heroes and Wave 1 Villains. While
secondary characters are a little more common with
the latest waves, they are still very hard to come
by and shelves are still full of countless He-Man
figures. With holiday sales over, is Mattel going
to be adjusting case assortments to avoid too many
He-Man figures on the shelves?
I agree completely. As many of you noticed, we revised
the mix from approximately 66% He-Man and Skeletor
vs. secondary characters in 2002 to approximately
60% He-Man and Skeletor in Spring 2003. As we roll
into Summer and Fall, watch for a 50/50 mix. This
should address your concerns. Secondary characters
will be more rare than the He-Man figure (as they
should be), but the ratios will be corrected to reflect
the excitement you have over the entire team.
17.
Why did Cartoon Network change its schedule from a
6 day a week airing to a Saturday-only?
I'll address one concern right off the bat... this
was not a ratings issue. We were concerned that we
would burn out the episodes by playing them too many
times. As we get more episodes under our belts, watch
for Masters to be on strip in the future.

Masters of the Universe, Vol II,
Issue one. The battle begins anew from Image
Comics and MVCreations
this March.
The issue fans have asked for!!
Major shake-ups and non-stop battle action kick off
the first issue of our epic battle between the Forces
of Good and the Forces of Evil!
"From
the get-go we really wanted to establish the Masters
of the Universe series to be something different
from any other fantasy based book out there. A book
that blends science and sorcery into one big package.
We're very ecstatic with the how well the mini-series
has been received, and hope to continue that success
with this new series. I know fans have been begging
to see some really big action scenes and I promise
fans will not be disappointed!" says Marketing
Director, Jonboy Meyers.
The first He-Man mini series which
wraps up early this March laid the ground work by
reestablishing key characters. With issue one of the
new series coming out in late March, MVCreations
is looking to begin more action-packed story lines.
MVCreationsPresident and
resident Color Monkey agrees, "Our plan from
the start was to introduce a story that had a similar
feel to the new cartoon. From there, we stepped up
the pace and are now ready to put out a book that
pushes the boundaries of what has been done with Masters
of the Universe. We want the story to parallel
the new cartoon while being mindful of the classic
series and the wants of our fellow fans."
With a successful toy line from Mattel
and a popular cartoon series by Mike
Young Productions on the Cartoon
Network, Staples has a lot to live up
to. "We're keeping stories as interesting and
exciting as possible. With the new upcoming story
arc, this is a great time for new readers to jump
on board!"
For artist Emiliano Santalucia, Italian born
penciller extraordinaire, says, "There's a real
challenge in keeping pace with the cartoon series
and toy line, but I've been allowed to put my own
spin on things." In issue one of the new series
expect to see oldies but goodies like Trapjaw
and Mekaneck, but keep an eye out
for some new faces. "I think I've drawn every
character we've seen so far into issue one of the
ongoing series, and my hand is totally numb! The hardest
page I've drawn yet is page 10 of the new series.
I cursed Val for days!"
"Mattel
has given us a great opportunity to bring something
exciting and different to the He-Man
mythos," says Staples. "Elements
introduced in the cartoon series may be reflected
in our stories, but the comic allow us to expand on
the story with a more mature feel."
"In
addition to the fans and collectors, retailers have
been a huge factor to our book's success. As a thank
you, we have offered a holofoil incentive cover for
the first issue of the new series to all the retailers
who have supported our book." says Meyers.
And for all those collectors out there, they can also
pick up the spectacular Cully Hamner/Tim Townsend
wrap around variant cover exclusive from Graham
Crackers Comics.
As
for the future? Expect a lot! We'll be seeing a series
of one-shots this summer focusing on individual characters
from the Masters of the Universe.
As to who? Stay Tuned!

The
figures are identical to the fast casts that Mattel
sends to Asia. In fact they were all cast by the Four
Horsemen (who also graciously donated their time) from
the original molds.
The figure sizes vary slightly.
-Not including the bases, the tallest figure (head to
toe) is Skeletor at almost 15".
-Merman is almost as tall.
-The two shortest are He-Man and Man-at-Arms,
at slightly under 14", with Trapjaw
and Beastman (top of horns to back
of toe) in between.
The Skeletor comes with a functioning
lava lamp rendition of the acid vial.
The eyes on Merman do, in fact, light
up. There is a switch on the back of the head.
The
level of decoration is way too much to feature in a
mass market figure, and there is a slim possibility
that they may inspire a convention or magazine exclusive
at some point. But no guarantees.

Important
Masters of the Universe Auctions! Six eBay
auctions are being offered by Mattel
in order to benefit Ed Watts and his family.
Ed Watts is a former Mattel
employee who worked as a designer on Hot Wheels

lines, and his artistic influence on Mattel's
design staff, are still felt today. Last year Ed
was diagnosed with a very serious (type 4) brain tumor, which
he is bravely fighting. Ed's friends and
former co-workers at Mattel felt compelled
to come together to raise funds for the Watts
family by donating their personal time and ingenuity to create
these amazing one-of-a-kind collectibles. Please be assured
that all of the auction proceeds (net of Mattel's
costs) will go to the worthy cause of helping out
the Watts family in this time of need. We encourage all fans and collectors to bid on these
