Want to have some input into a possible next batch of re-released
figures (depending, of course, on how well the first set sells)?
Then take our new poll! (And post here when you're finished!)

Just a quick update to let everyone know that the re-releases
are beginning to show up in toy aisles. Be sure to pick them
up today! Remember, future re-releases (including the possibility
of He-Ro and Eldor) are directly dependant on how well these
toys do.
Also,
we ARE still working on the site. I know it's been over a
month, but it's happening, slowly. To everyone on the Guardians
of Grayskull, I know the list is down (due to our server switch),
and we'll try to get to get it back up as soon as possible
(at the moment, it's out of our hands).
One
more thing: our friends over at Mattel have asked us to put
up a few more polls, so we're going to try to get those up
tonight. So stay tuned!

We are converting the site to a faster, more efficient PHP/MySQL
database format from our current CGI/Perl in celebration of
the 20th Anniversary re-release! This will coincide with a
new look and much more fan interactivity for the site. However,
please remember that this is a very tedious process, and once
we're done we'll get right back to the news and updates you
come here for!
A
taste of what you'll see: Four new Opening the Vault interviews,
a new Dear Gorpo, German comics, magazines, and cassettes
with synopses and reviews (courtesy of Tytus), more search
features, and a new Download section!

Be sure to check out next month's issue of Wizard Magazine
(#111) for He-Man artwork by Superman artist Ed McGuinness!
Thanks to Wizard's Mike Bencic for the tip!
Also,
I've added the final non-checklist
poster, as well as the assortment of various link updates,
variant additions, and corrections that always accompany my
updates. Look for the new Did You Know as you browse the site
today. And check out this
screenshot (330k) from Diablo II -- a coincidence?
One
more thing: He-Man.org will begin showing banner ads on its
pages soon... this site uses almost a gigabyte of bandwidth
a day! We had to pay for it somehow. :^)

After talking to Mattel Canada, Matt Hencher let us know that,
in addition to the US release in January, toys will be released
in Canada beginning in April. Whether this is accurate remains
to be seen, as I might remind everyone that there has been
no official word from Mattel about this one way or
the other.
Also,
the BraveStarr Homepage has moved to its own domain at Bravestarr.net.

Some minor but cool additions today. Added a new
image of the Create-A-Character advertisement that appeared
in newspapers that includes images of all the finalist toys
and details of the contest. I've also added the Eternia
poster (thanks to Michael Perez) and will soon add the
final poster, of the Horde. Oh, and a new Did You Know. :^)

Please note that the following is unsubstantiated by Mattel
and that we have no information available beyond what is printed
here.
ToyFare has announced in issue #40 (p. 42-44) that in January
2001 Mattel will re-release 10 figures in original packaging
(He-Man, Skeletor, Teela, Man-At-Arms, Evil-Lyn, Beast Man,
Faker, Mer-Man, Trap Jaw, and Tri-Klops). He-Man and Skeletor
will be limited to 15,000, while the rest will have 10,000.
Mattel will also re-release the He-Man/Battle Cat and Skeletor/Panthor
two-packs. Apparently, He-Ro and Eldor are also possibilities
in the future.
New rumors are surfacing about Cartoon Network in talks with
Hallmark with regard to cartoons such as He-Man, G.I. Joe,
Transformers, Jem, and possibly a few others. After checking
this out for myself, I have discovered that in fact there
have been talks, however nothing is certain or set in stone.

You might have noticed that I've included a link to TOTEMCon
in our layout. TOTEMCon is an oddly-named convention primarily
for '80s cartoon fans (and especially He-Man), but also includes
anime, video games, and other fun stuff. The first annual
convention will be held in Summer 2001 in New England (location
to be determined).
It actually looks like this might happen, but we'll see. In
the meantime, we'll give it support, since so many fans have
been wanting a con to get together. Note that we are NOT the
creators of TOTEMCon.

I think we've found a solution to our hosting problem. It
may be a bit before I find out for sure. I've done some minor
housecleaning on the site and discovered four interviews that
still hadn't been integrated in from Adam's old site. So,
here are those. That's
it for now!
Also, Chris Crosby, of the web comic Superosity,
wanted to let us know that he has a WWH-MD (What Would He-Man
Do?) shirt available in his store.

We've got some updates for you, but here's the big news:
He-Man.org must find a new host by October 1.
We're not interested in private hosting at this point (read:
individual machines). Candidates for hosting must be able
to handle around 1 GB (1024 MB) of traffic a day. We're open
to possibly having an entertainment site host us, and have
no problems with putting advertisements on the site. If interested,
please contact us.
Too all who have asked: We haven't updated recently because
we are in the process of making a new, non-He-Man, non-cartoon,
non-toy site. The Opening the Vault section should be back
on track by next weekend, and once I receive those, I'll update
everything else in my massive to-do folder with all of your
mails.

Wow! I actually updated. Got a new Gorpo
(he's not dead, really), more memories,
several new links (including an
'obituary' about The Sorceress' Site), a new game
mods section (including a He-Man skin for The Sims), and
a new Kobra
Khan Camouflage variant. Also, I fixed the Chat
Room.

IGN Sci-Fi has an article focusing on He-Man in their Great
Cartoon Archive series -- check
it out! Also, for anyone who has e-mailed me stuff, I
have a boatload of stuff to update, but tomorrow's my birthday,
so screw that! Gifts can be in the form of cash. I
expect a gift from every single last one of you. Seriously.

New game, "She-Ra: Search and Destroy," now available in Vitalize Games.
Since some of you were asking about the Indian figures, I
took about 15 minutes and whipped up a page about them, under
Toys | Variants. This page includes 3 pictures of card fronts
and 1 card back. Click
here to see it.
Adam Osgood has
completed his computer game, "Masters of the Universe: The
Prophecy," which he has been working on for some time now.

Earlier today, Hallmark Entertainment sent Zadoc Angell and
Busta Toons (The
He-Man and She-Ra Episode Review Website) a legal cease
and desist order to stop using copyrighted material. Now,
hours later, it appears that it was a mistake.
As
was evident after Zadoc talked to Tim Craig, Vice President
of Legal and Business Affairs, Hallmark is concerned about
the offering of full-episode videos. Through a misinterpretation,
Zadoc and Busta were thought to offer these videos as well.
However,
I have called on all webmasters that offer full episodes to
discontinue doing so. See the Discussion
Forum for more information.

We've received many requests for a section devoted to "Masters
of the Universe: The Motion Picture," so I finally broke down
and created an entirely new section about
the film. It's in the sidebar and everything. You may notice
that I had to remove the minicomics link. However, the minicomics
are in the same place they always have been. It just takes
an extra step to get there, now, through comics.
Let us know what you think!

I've finally got some free time again, so I'll be updating
the site a little this weekend. To start off with, we've got
a new Gorpo, as well as some
new card front pictures and Aidan Cross' newest section,
MOTU cartoon character appearances for all three seasons!
Also, more variants.

Lots of big news this go-round. If you haven't noticed yet,
we are now hosting The BraveStarr Homepage.
This site will soon be done with its contruction and will
be up for all you BraveStarr fans to enjoy. Also, we are now
using Ultimate Bulletin Board for our message board software!
This is the leading board software on the Net, and we'll think
you'll like it, too! To go to the new boards, click
here. Be sure to update your links! And as if that wasn't
enough, I just added a new Toy
Commercials section, too!

WOW! New Gorpo. Looks like
the Horde is taking over the earth. That's too, too bad...
ToyFare's Titanic Toy Tussle has ended, with Transformers
emerging the bearer of the title Coolest Toyline Ever. However,
that's not to take away from He-Man's accomplisment, as Second
Coolest Toyline Ever! He beat out every incarnation of GI
Joe and Star Wars ever, as well as sixty other toylines!
Congratulations to Transformers fans everwhere on their victory.
