Here is a story which goes back to 1985, then unto 1986, and forward on...

I am a Turk, and at the time of 1985, I was at a Greek kindergarten. I loved the Greeks, still do and my best friend was Greek, and He-man reminds me of him, the Greeks, how important love and friendship are, and how time passes.

The He-man toy that my father has bought me, in Athens, from the store of Vassipoulos (I still remember the place!!). I still remember the day I opened the package! And running downstairs to my Greek friend, and we started playing. He had Castle Grayskull and Skeletor, and I had Heman. Skeletor was trying to capture the castle, and he-man tried to prevent it. In the end, they would be friends, and they would sleep in the same caslte, Castle Grayskull. HA!HA!HA!

In 1986, me and my dad went to the cafe Gilifada at Athens, Greece. And I saw a neighboring mega toystore, and I saw Hordak. I can still remember my heart pounding, and I forced my dad in the store, there was also toys of John Blackstar and the "cruel" Overlord, but Buzz-Saw Hordak was my choice. WIIIPIE!!

The same year, we got a Terror Claw Skeletor from Vassipoulos, and I just remember reading and re-reading the minicomic of Terror Claws, and acting this with my toys. I remember, my grandparents, God bless them, were at times playing with me. My dad would imitate the voice of Skeletor, and I used to move the figure!

I only had three toys then, He-man, Terror Claws Skeletor and Buzz-Saw Hordak...They the classical trio, I was contend with them than.

They have been with me for the last 13 years, and have traveled all around the globe with me, to USA, to Egypt, to Turkey, to Israel...

In 1990, when my dad was commisioned to Egypt, (he is a diplomat), I saw the arabic al-market, a toy store like heaven, had all the motu toys.

I decided that Hordak, Skeletor needed help against He-man. So Kobra Khan, Evil-Lyn, Modulok, Leech, Mantenna, Rattlor, Hurricane Hordak, Mantisaur joined the crew.

I call these dudes "the Pharaohs", I got them during my Egyptian era of 1990-1993.

Years past, and I had forgotten about motu. I went to high school, returned to Turkey, Ankara. I was a so called mature person now, toys meant nothing, and they were to be hidden...

From 1993 to 1998, I had repressed my interest in motu toys.

But one day, out of the dusts, I rediscovered my cartoon named EvilSeed, and than Secret of the Sword. And all my toys...

And I remembered all the fun I had with motu, and the memories of Greece and Egypt...how sweet life was with them, and they really had meant something more than plastic to me...

I decided that life is short, and one should fullfill all desires. One of my desires, I was certain about this, was to finish my motu collection.

So, nostalgia as he-man is, he has also become a hobby within me, and I have never given up the joy that He-man and all motu gives me...
