It's always great to hear from He-Man.org and the #1 Masters of the Universe collecting community in the world!

1. Does Mattel own the rights to any of the characters that appeared solely in the original animated series? (i.e., Dree'Elle, Dark Dream, Evil Seed, etc)

Mattel owns the rights for all toy executions of the original He-Man animated series.

2. Why the decision to release twice as many heros as villains in 2002?

Traditionally, heroic characters are more aspirational to the core kid audience than villians. This can be especially true for a new toy property launch. While He-Man and the Masters of the Universe was first launched 20 years ago, for some kids this will be the first time they have the opportunity to enjoy MOTU!

3. Are there any plans to make the comic available to fans in countries outside the United States?

Yes. We are currently finalizing our international launch strategy. The comic book has been and will be an important piece of the Masters of the Universe world.

4. Is there any more light you can shed on the specific toys and dates (or at least the months) fans in other parts of the world (Europe, Asia, Australia, etc) can expect to see for the new line?

Currently we are looking at a Fall 2003 launch internationally with toys. This is to coincide with the launch of the show in those markets.

5. Can you give us anymore insight on the reasoning behind the change of He-Man's signature sign from the stylized cross to the stylized 'H' and whether we will see the cross again on any versions of the action figure.

We know how much the collecting community cares about He-Man, and in the new Masters launch we painstakingly pored over every single change to the Masters characters. We believe that the H on He-Man's chest is incredibly powerful, bold, and iconic.

6. Are there any plans pending for a Masters of the Universe Role Playing Game system or other similar non-electronic gaming system?

We are looking into many non-electric role playing executions - both Mattel produced and licensed product.

7. Will any musical scoring from the original series find its way into the new cartoon?

No. You won't be disappointed with the new score.

8. Aside from the Deluxe Battle sound He-Man and Skeletor figures, will any more deluxe figures be released with episodes of the original series?

We have no plans to distribute the original series through the deluxe figures.

9. Are there currently plans to produce any characters that are completely new to the Masters of the Universe? (That is, characters that have never appeared in toy, cartoon, film, or any other medium).

In the initial Masters launch, the goal will be to introduce kids and reacquaint adults to the most popular Masters characters. As the new line matures, you can expect exciting new Masters characters in the toy line.

10. Can we expect any other female action figures (besides Teela) to be released/announced in the near future?

Yes. Guess who is next and I'll tell you in an upcoming He-Man.org Q&A!

11. Are there any plans to create a Masters of the Universe collector's club that offers its members exclusives? (i.e. The McFarlane Toys Collector's Club)

This is a great idea - one that potentially reaches out to both collectors and kids alike! Don't be too surprised to see a Masters Collector's Club in the near future.

12. Will there be any smaller add-on playsets for Castle Grayskull (i.e. Point Dread w/Talon Fighter, Throne Room, etc) or any features and/or inclusions with the Grayskull playset that we haven't seen yet (i.e. a throne)?

Yes - The goal will be to create add-on playsets that make excellent stand alone playsets.

13. Will there be any sort of smaller accessories for the new line, (i.e. Vintage MOTU Scubattack, Stilt-Stalkers, Cliff Climber, etc)

Watch for a small, very cool accessory item to launch in Spring 2003!

14. Will we see any updates to classic vehicles (i.e. Attak-Trak, Wind Raider, etc)?

ABSOLUTELY... and, frankly, I can't wait!
